Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get started?
Due to the confidential nature of the work we perform, you will need to contact a Net Transcripts Account Representative to initiate service. Click here to request access and an Account Representative will contact you within the next 24-hours.
How do I send my recordings?
Net Transcripts provides several different ways for our customers to transfer audio files to us for transcribing. We primarily recommend securely uploading your files to us via our encrypted, Web-based Order Center. However, we are also capable of receiving files via SFTP uploads, or you can simply mail us your recordings. Learn more and see how it works.
How do I receive my finished transcripts?
Completed transcripts are returned securely through our Web-based Order Center. Upon completion, users will receive a notification email alerting them that their transcript has been completed and is available for secure download from their account.
We can also email completed transcripts, but don't recommend doing so as email communications are not always secure, are subject to file size limitations, and in many cases subject to FOIA requests and Public Information Disclosure laws.
How soon will I receive my transcripts?
Net Transcripts offers several turnaround options depending on recording type. Multi-Speaker Transcriptions can be returned on a Same-Day, Next-Day, 3-Day or 5-Day basis. Single-Speaker Transcriptions are returned in 24-hours or less, with Priority turnaround options also available. Foreign Language Translations are typically returned within 3 to 10 business days, however turnaround varies depending on language, duration and project scope.
How much does it cost?
Net Transcripts bills based on the duration of your recording in minutes. Cost varies according to turnaround requested. We also provide a variety of Value-Added Services such as audio/video conversions, bound hard copies, and custom document formatting. Please contact us for pricing details.
Are there any other fees to use your service?
No. There are no set-up fees, no minimum use requirements, no monthly subscription plans -- we don't even require a contract! Net Transcripts' service is available on an as-needed, pay-as-you go basis.
Do I need any special equipment?
No. The use of our Web-based Order Center does not require the use of any special equipment, software or anything else. All that's needed is your digital recording, and a computer with an internet connection -- it's that easy!
What if I don't need your services very often?
That's fine! Net Transcripts is available to assist with transcription and translation projects on an as-needed, pay-as-you-go basis. Our services are available on-demand, whether that's only once in a blue moon, or every day of the week.
How large of a project can you handle?
Net Transcripts is a scalable operation and can accommodate a variety of large projects simultaneously. If we anticipate any project might take longer than our standard turnaround options, our Account Representatives work with our clients to prioritize files and coordinate a production schedule in advance to ensure client deadlines are being met.
How secure is Net Transcripts?
Net Transcripts' Web-based Order Center utilizes 128-bit SSL Data Encryption to facilitate the secure transfer of files between Net Transcripts and our clients.
All personnel undergo an extensive, National-Level Criminal Background Check, are fingerprinted by local law enforcement, and sign a comprehensive Confidentiality Agreement with Conflict of Interest provisions designed specifically to safeguard the integrity of the work we process.
Do you guarantee accuracy?
Net Transcripts guarantees 98.8% accuracy on all transcripts we process. Accuracy is determined using a combination of factors, including but not limited to an accurate verbatim account of the recording, correct spelling and punctuation, adherence to formatting specifications, proper identification of speakers, and number of unintelligible instances.
Can you provide a Certified Transcript?
Yes. Net Transcripts can certify a transcript upon request. Certified transcripts can be provided electronically as PDF files, or as bound hard copies. Contact us to learn more about transcript certification and the difference between using Net Transcripts and a Certified Court Reporter.
